Show Sheriff's Report Garfield County Sheriff's Department announced the arrest of Glade T. Owens Jr., 30', Panguitch, Friday evening for unlawfully "discharging a firearm within the city limits". The incident took place at approximately 8 p.m. at the Bill Burrough's residence. Arraignment on the charge is pending. Deputy Boyd Woolsey reported the arrest of Thomas A. Alvey, Escalante, on the charge of driving under the influence following a vehicle collision on the Hole-in-the-Rock road Saturday afternoon. Alvey's vehicle apparently collided with a vehicle driven by Othello Barney, Escalante, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Neither party sustained injury. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at approximately $2,000. Alvey appeared before justice of the peace Wayne Holman and was sentenced to six months in Garfield County jail and fined $598. A one car rollover was also reported by officer Woolsey Sunday evening three miles west of Escalante on Highway 12. Driver of the vehicle, George Nez, 22, Escalante, was transported by local area EMT s with the Escalante ambulance unit from the scene to Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch. A passenger, Edward Goodman, 20, Cow Springs, Ariz., was uninjured in the mishap. Charges are pending. Panguitch City officer Than Cooper reported the arrest of Jay R.Lamb, 51, Salt Lake City on charges of driving under the influence Monday afternoon. Lamb was released subsequently on $400 bail. |
