Show EscalanteHigli School News Students at Escalante High school are eager to celebrate the end of the first term Friday with several appropriate celebrations planned. Students In Louise Listen's Humanities class signed contracts with their teacher for certain grades at the beginning of the term. They will hold a contract burning ceremony on Friday. The Junior Class will .sponsor a movie this week as a fundraising effort toward their Junior Prom next Spring, " Be dk nobs and Broomsticks", a Walt Disney feature will play in the lunchroom at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday evening. Friday's basketball game will pit Escalante's Moquis against Valley at Valley. In sports last week, Escalante lost to Panguitch 72 to 57 on Friday. Things looked up on Saturday when they won over Page 76 to 67. This brings standings for Escalante to eight wins, four losses. In league play: one win and three losses. For the new semester two new courses will be offered. Madeline Haws will replace Michele Alvey who had taught Music and Media course. She will conduct a course in Police Science including a unit on self-defense. Debbie Sorensen who had been teaching journalism and yearbook classes will replace those with Home Economics. |
