Show Hatch Happenings Velma Huntington Daughters of Utah Pioneers meeting was held Friday at the home of Velma Huntington, Reva Lowder was the hostess. Carla Sawyer brought Maggie Barnhurst home from LaVerkin after she had spent two weeks on a tour by plane with a group of people to Mexico City, Mexico and many places of interest. Speakers in church were Calvin Wilson, Mervin Barnhurst, Garth Heap, Karl Lowder, Layton Barney, Lcland Riggs and Verda Sawyer. Visiting Effel Riggs several days were Reva and Kay Alexander, Salt Lake City and Thora Porter, Cedar City. The Alexanders took Effel Riggs to Nephi to visit Mrs. Thalia Mickelsen and also her granddaughter, Margo and baby of Georgia. The Alexanders took Effel with them to take Thora home. Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Huntington received word of a new grandson. He arrived in Cedar City to parents Stanley and Valerie Huntington. Wiley and Lucille went to Cedar City to visit the new baby. Abbie Fallis received word of a new great grandson born Jan. 6 at Ramah, New Mexico to Dennis and Elaine Simons. Visiting Maggie Barnhurst were Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Barnhurst, Salt Lake City. They also visited the Dallas Bar-nhursts. Nile and Car ma Sawyer returned home from their three week visit to Virginia with their Navy son Ricky. Visiting in Cedar City during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Garth Heap. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Evans visited in Hurricane with the Deloy Evans. While there Lynn had medical attention from the Dr. for his leg. Visiting during the week at the Sam Evans home were the Vaughn and the Gary Evans families, Logandale and Saturday visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Dee Roundy, Mr. and Mrs. Vard Heaton, Alton. They also visited the E. F. Tureks. Monday Sam and Lucille visited in Cedar City. The Karl Lowders visited in Cedar City and in Minersville with the Larry Baileys. Lllith Wilson just recieved word that she had a new grandson born Jan. 11. Proud parents are Karl and LaPriel Wilson of St. George. 4 |
