Show Reservoir Storage On Sevier River 'Good' As a result of a generally wet March, reservoir storage In the Sevier River Valley remains excellent for the summer season, and the streamflow forecast has improved substantially, reaching near normal or even above normal at some stations. According to the monthly water supply report from the National Weather Service, forecasts jumped from 10 to 20 percent over last month's figures. The three principal reservoirs on the Sevier River -Otter Creek, Piute and Sevier Bridge - show a combined 353,330 acre feet of water storage which is 149-percent of average and 99-percent of capacity. March precipitation was abundant with most areas receiving 200 to 300-percent of average. Piute Reservoir is listed with 49,900 acre feet for 140-percent of average, while Otter Creek Reservoir listed 37,270 acre feet for 141-percent of average. Sevier Bridge reservoir with 146,800 acre feet is at 157-percent of average for this t time of year The April-July streamflow forecast on the river shows 31,000 acre feet at Hatch for 76-percent; 20,000 acre feet near Kingston for 88-percent; 34,000 acre feet Piute Reservoir inflow for 94-percent; 34,000 acre feet inflow from Sigurd t to Gunnison for 131-percent The East Fork Sevier River near Kingston is forecast at 14,000 acre feet for 92 percent, and Clear Creek near Sevier is forecast at 11,000 acre feet for 62-percent. |
