Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey The grassnoppers are about to take over here, then the skunks come into town at night. Helena Spencer spent some time in the Garfield Memorial hospital being observed after a fall from the back of a pickup driven by her father, Carl. The Arnold Alveys went to Wayne County and brought Janeen and Danny Duncan home for a visit. Garl and Patsy Cottam of Provo visited the Ushur Spencers here. LaFaye Bailey went north for treatments. The Lorenzo Griffins had son, Lewis and Jean here from Provo. Rulon and Marilla Jolly of Cedar City visited Marie Hall. Lorell Munson took Nelda to California to have son Daryl put a cap back on her teeth, and of course they could see the grandkids. Minnie Davis has a new great - grandson born to Alfred and Toni Foster. Brent and Patrice Griffin have a baby boy. The Starns Mechams and Hilda Roundy went to Pine Lake for a Roundy reunion. Hilda's kids met her there. The Special Interest group went to Calf Creek for a pot luck supper honoring Clella Woolsey and LaRue Spencer for their birthdays. LaRue got her call for Florida Tampa mission and goes into the mission home Sept. 18. Lillie Spencer went to the Richfield area for a reunion of the offspring of Clyde and Lillie Spencer. Debbie and David Eiman came here to have their son christened in church. The name, Jared Ellis Eiman, was given him by Johnny Alvey. The Vernon Spencers had Camille and Ed Shakespear here for a visit before they moved to Nevada to live. Keith Carter went to St. Johns, Ariz, for the christening of a granddaughter. The Council on Aging took LaRue Spencer and Fay Alvey to Cedar City to a workshop and meetings. Kerry Shurtz visited his sisters in Washington and Cedar City then got home to celebrate his Uth birthday anniversary with a party. Renon Peterson and granddaughter Shona of Boulder, Leone and Elaine Bailey of Salt Lake City visited at the Hal Shurtz home. Tenisa Gracie of Roosevelt is visiting the Theron Mitchells. Ann Haws and children, her friend Claudia Alldredge of St. George visited at the Delane Griffins. The Griffins also had a visit from friends Mr. and Mrs. Sets King of Austin, Nev. "Walk softly and carry a big stick" Teddy Roosevelt said; walkers and joggers should do the same to deal with the dogs they dread. |
