Show Panguitch Keeps Slate Clean With B. V. Win Panguitch continued to keep a clean slate in Region Eight league basketball play with a lopsided 68 23 win over Bryce Valley Thursday night and dominate the Division Two standings in the league. In another game, Wayne edged Piute 72-57 In Division One, Milford took the lead in league standings with a 6S-64 victory over Kanab Other games saw Gunnison whip Enterprise 77-54; North Sevier over Beaver 58-55 While Milford was taking a giant step toward the Division One title Thursday. Panguitch was solidifying its Division Two cham pionship and maintaining its perfect record by zipping past Bryce Valley, 63-28 In another Division Two game, Wayne downed Piute, 72-57. Bryce Valley employed a slow-down, hold-the-ball strategy against Panguitch, but the Bobcats and coach Ray Englestead quickly made the tactic backfire. David Black poured in 23 points, Kevin Frandsen 13 and Jeff Owens 12 to anchor the Bobcats, while Link Phvnnwnth loH Bryce Valley ( 1-8) with 12 points. Wayne broke away from a 34-29 halftime edge to outscore Piute, 23-17, in the third quarter to grab a 57-46 lead and cruise home for the victory. Dwight Brown popped in 22 points, Jan Ellett 14, Evan Wood 13 and George Jackson 12 to pace the Badgers' balanced attack Kim Dalton put in 21 to lead Piute (5-4). North Sevier advanced to within a game and half of Milford with a 58 44 victory over Beaver, and Gunnison boosted its mark to 6 5 by virtue of a 77 54 win over Enterprise in a pair of Division One contests Thursday North Sevier prepared for the Region Eight round robin by pulling away from a 36-32 third quarter lead to outscore Beaver, 22-12, in the fourth period to assure the victory Troy Hallows and Randy Rnrr each collected 15 points io buoy the Wolves, while Daniel Robinson topped Beaver with 18 Gunnison overcame a 14-11 first-auarter deficit to outshoot Enterprise. 19-8, in the second quarter to get untracked and position themselves for the triumph. Randy Warren dropped in 18 and Scott Madsen 6 points to captain Gunnison, while Cort Clove led Enterprise (0-11) with 16 points. Milford assumed a one-game lead over Kanab (8-3) while improving to 9-2 with the important triumph Thursday evening. But matters didn't always look too rosy for the reigning 1-A king Kim and Don Glover joined Ben Johnson to shoot the Cowboys to a 16-13 first-quarter edge, and Kanab still enjoyed the nit nil uii' at 11.
