Show Only One Directory Telephone customers are appaently confused by two different phone books available in the Richfield area, says Mountain Bell's customer services manager Dee Severson points out (hat only the Southern I'tah telephone directory which contains Richfield listings, is published and distributed by Mountain Bell According to Severson. there are several distinctions between the two books Mountain Bell's directory is distinguished by a cover featuring a shadowbox depiction of the 100th anniversary of the telephone book "We have received many inquiries and some complaints about the 'other' book, "observes Severson. "We want our customers to know that the 'other' book is not published or distributed by Mountain Bell and any questions about listings should be referred to the publisher ." According to Severson, much of the confusion about similarities between the two books stems from the use of the "walking fingers" yellow pages insignia, which is not a copyrighted trademark of the Bell System. The circular Bell insignia, which is a copyrighted trademark, appears only on the Mountain Bell telephone directory Severson also notes that anyone who it contacted regarding directory sales or listing information can ask for official identification carried by all Mountain Bell employes Mountain Bell's Southern Utah telephone directory was delivered to customers in the Richfield area during the last w week in September and the first week in October |
