Grtflhi HENRIEVILLE -Leland W Griffin, SB. farmer Garfield County Commissioner and president of the Henrievllle Town Council, died Sunday at a Provo hospital after surgery for skin cancer. Mr. Griffin served in the Garfield County Commission from 1968 to 1976 In the mid-19602, he was president of the Henrieville Town Council. In the early 1962, Mr Griffin spearheaded an organization which brought television to three Garfield County communities. He arranged to have sub stations transfer television signals to Henrieville, Cannonville and Tropic. From 1965 to present he was self employed as a heavy equipment operator. At the time of his death he was county road supervisor. Mr. Griffin was an army veteran of WW II and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Ma He was born June 26, 1920 in Escalante. Gar field County to Arlow Henry and Dora Elizabeth Roe Griffin He married Berthine Francisco. September 18. 1942 in Pioche, Nev Their marriage was solemnized in the St George LDS Temple Mr Griffin is survived by his widow, Henrieville, two sons and two daughters. Bishop Leland Royce. Midland. Tropic Funeral services were held in the Henrieville LDS Ward Chapel, Tuesday, with Bishop Ralph C Chynoweth, officiating The family prayer was offered by Vernile Griffin; prelude and postlude music was by Viola Rose, in vocation. Wade Barney. The ward choir sang, "I Need Thee Every Hour", and "God Be With You" Kenny Goulding sang. "Somewhere My Love" Speakers were Ixrenzo Griffin, Royce Griffin, with remarks by Bishop Ralph Chynoweth Benediction was offered by Rradley Griffin Graveside services were at Henrieville Cemetery by the American legion Post 25. Royce Griffin dedicated the grave Pallbearers were Dexter Francisco, Charley Francisco, Rill Francisco, Ward Gibson, Clark Evans and Ora Shafer Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons Burial was by Smith Mortuary.
