Show Hospital Sets Escalante Medical Class Sandra Little, patient educator and coordinator of the Gc.-field Home Health Department at the Garfield Memorial Hospital announces the offering of the third Medical Self Help Class in Garfield County The medical self help class will be offered under the Garfield County Adult Education Program and the Garfield Memorial Hospital. The eight week course is scheduled to start Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. at Escalante High School. The course will be taught by Sandra Little, R.N. Topics covered in the eight weeks include: Rights as a patient, why is medical care so costly, recognizing heart and circulation problems knowing about the chronic diseases; arthritis, asthma, diabetes and cancer, drug and alcohol use and abuse, perils of eating American style, accident prevention and stress and relaxation therapy. The course is designed to be 16-24 hours long with credit given toward high school graduation. The cost of the course is $12 for the first family member and $5 for each additional family member. An optional textbook, "Better Homes and Garden's Family Medical Guide" can be purchased for $15.
