Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey 826-4231 The weather is still too good to be true for this time of year, a few wispy clouds appear but do nothing. There are still sick among us; Eva Spencer just can't get back on her feet. Her son Carl came to see her on the weekend. Vera Davis is still down most of the time. Minnie Davis and Almeda Haycock took her to Panguitch for x-rays and tests but brought her home. The Melvin Alveys have a new grandson born to Helen and Rick Pruitt of Logan. Florence went up to lend a helping hand. The Hode Alveys had an overnight visit from Danny and Arta Beth Pollock of Salt Lake City. Thelma Smith comes from Henrieville at least once a week to help her parents, Hode and Da. James, Millie and Twila Mclnelly went to Greenriver to visit Jim and Shirley Ramsay. Jim has a heart condition and is going to a specialist for tests and treatment, possibly surgery. Dee and Elda Haws took a horse to Phoenix. Klyn and Marlene Haws had business in Richfield. Pratt and Harvey Dean Gates, Robert Listen, Quinn Griffin, Mel, Jay and Kay Brooks went to Arizona to a team roping school. Judy Brooks accompanied them. Arden and MaeVon Taylor went to Panguitch and brought Janalee Spencer home for the weekend, Sam Spencer came for her. Deon and Rayleen Alvey took Janeen Duncan to Richfield to meet Brad who took her back to Green River. The Griffins Gene, Thais, Bill and Dawn, Lorell and Nelda Munson went to Salt Lake City for market week. Osmer and Evie Neilson of Parowan had business here. Lowell and Betty Finch and daughter were here checking on their house. Ott and Hilda Roundy spent the weekend in Monroe. Ardis and Norman Christensen had daughter Jo Danklef and family here from Cedar City, The Christensens went North for the funeral services of Lillie, the wife of their brother Nick. Raylene Alvey spent the weekend in Panguitch with her sister Denise. Julie and Dick Droubay of Richfield spent the weekend here at the Wayne Buttons. Lynn and Rhonda Button spent several days here at the Arnold Button home. Lynn Is doing his student teaching. Sam Allen, Jim and John Yardley of Panguitch had business here. The Coleman people here had a visit from their brother LaFay of Salt Lake City and their father Parley Coleman of Wayne County. Minnie Davis, Bonnie and Robert Smith went to Cedar City to see about drapes for their freshly decorated home. The Charley Orretts went to Salt Lake City with prospects of moving there. The Verge Spencers and daughter Tammy had dental dates in Richfield. Evadean Listen had all of her family home for the weekend, even the one about to be a member. PTA meeting was held last week with Pres. Geraldine Listen in charge. Problems were discussed pro and con and back again. Grant and Laretta Spencer went to St. George and went through the LDS Temple with son Robert and wife Melanie, and attended the baptismal services of Don's Wife, Virginia. They talked to Gwen and Randal Lyman who are enjoying their work at the temple. Marion Shakes pear and Ray Iittlefield of Tropic joined me for a trip to Panguitch where we joined After Church, the Verd Wort hens, Edra and Lile Miller for a meeting in Cedar City on the aging program, it was very informative and really vast. A cancer clinic was held here last week under the direction of Marjorie K. Griffin, Four women came into run it with the help of some local ladies. The month of February is just a trifle short but contains two I presidents birthdays and a holiday of the heart. |
