Alma Dean Fletcher has been In Las Vegas to do some cabinet work for the Tom Reece's. George Thompson has been there for about a month working on the Recce home. They are both back home now and Ada greeted George with open arms and a list of repairs that needed prompt attention. It would seem that every time the man of the house leaves everything breaks down. Irving Johnson is again on the mend. He and Daisy are home again after his recent stay at the Veterans Hospital In Salt Lake City. Jim and Juneanne Miller, McGill, Nevada visited their parents Bonnie and Bill Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dutton and family, Fredonia, Ariz, spent several days In town this week with the Kendall Duttons. F1IA girls, Marie Nielson, Kay Mathews and Melanie Clark left at the crack of dawn Friday morning to attend a convention in Salt Lake City. They returned home after attending the Organ Recital at the Tabernacle on Sunday morning. Bryce Valley Girls Basketball team went to Spanish Fork early last week to play in the tournament. The girls on the team from Cannonville were Marie and Jolene Nielson and Melanie Clark. Elva and Marion Clark left for St. George on Monday for their temple assignment. Bonnie Neilson went to Richfield to the dentist. Leo and Bernice Dutton, Panguitch spent Friday visiting Bert and Arma Stock. Ira Elmer drove Lyle and La Vina Elmer to St. George so LaVina could check with her doctor, She had surgery on her knee recently. Beatrice, Wllma and Lorraine Dutton went to Cedar City to shop on Friday. They brought Jodi home for the weekend. Sherrill Davis called his parents, Melda and Sherman Davis to tell them he'd been called as the new bishop in his ward at Klamath Falls, Oregon. Gerald Stock and Elmer Henderson went to Salt Lake City on business this week. The Steven Clark family of Tropic attended sacrament meeting and had dinner with Elva and Marion Clark. Rachel Peebles is here for a few days with her parents, Ada and George Thompson. Other guests of the Thompsons this weekend were Mr. and Mrs. James N. Thomas of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Don Allen called with birthday greetings for Beatrice Dutton. A surprise party was given in her honor on Monday afternoon. Those attending were Mandy Fletcher, Arma Stock, Zelda Henderson, Wilma and Lorraine Dutton, Julia Elmer, Fern Henderson and myself. Melda Davis also shared birthday honors. Alice Dunham has returned to Layton after an all too short visit. Most of the folks In town attended the basketball games in Panguitch this weekend and needless to say we were proud of our young men. Food for thought: It's odd how few managers as well as marriage partners realize that if you give way in little things, you can almost always have your way in big ones. |
