Show Tropic Topics Ella Adair 174-2311 Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Shaketpear have a new grandson born to Ann and Bob Thornton. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ahlstrom are the parents of a new baby boy. . The proud grandparents are the Melford Ahlstroms of Tropic. Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Francisco have a new baby girl born March 9. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Baugh are the proud grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Max Stewart and family have returned to live in Tropic. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Baugh and daughter spent the weekend with the Sherman Baugh family. A house warming party for Keith Ott was held Saturday night In his new trailer home. The Jim Thomas' enjoyed a visit from their friend, Mr. Heinemann and sons from Mantl over the weekend. Katie Thomas spent a few days this past week with her daughter and family in Provo. DelRae Pollock, Mary Lee Ramsay, Nell Mecham and Sara Lou Sudweeks were in Richfield during the week. Cora and Harmon Shakespear are making rapid progress toward recovery from their recent accident, The Wallace Otts visited their son and family in Flagstaff, Ariz, this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Dive By bee and family were in Salt Lake City, Thursday to see son, Ricky off on the plane to Ireland for an L.D.S. mission. Nolan Johnson, Gary Bybee and Sharron Bybee, from Cedar City also were there to see him leave. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Shakespear and son visited with the Alton Shakespears Sunday. Gary and Sharron Bybee, Lyle and Lisa LeFevre were home for the weekend from college. Patrice Casebolt and Carolee Bybee were visiting with their grandmother, Mrs. Ella Bybee over the weekend. Both girls are attending the B.Y.U. in Provo. Kerry Littlefield was ordained a deacon and received the Duty To God Trail Award, Sunday. A special missionary farewell program was presented in sacrament meeting Sunday for George and Nell Wilson as follows: Talks by Jim and Connie Robinson, Bob Anderson and Larry Wilson. Music was by the singing mothers, the Robinson family and all of the grandchildren. Nell's two brothers, Rex and Leon .Sylvester also spoke, , and stalks were given by the two missionaries. All of their children but one were in attendance to the farewell. These included Larry Wilson and family from Salt Lake City, Maida Anderson and family, LaNita Meyers from Calif., Joe McKendrick and family from Salt Lake City, Nell's two sisters and two brothers and their families from St. George area. The high priests quorum and partners had a farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Saturday night in the church. Maureen and Ronald Ried, Bill Pollock and fiance were weekend visitors at the Larvin Pollock home. Vickie Ahlstorm's parents and her brother were Sunday visitiors in Tropic. Mr. and Mrs. Ursel Ott met her sister and husband and spent a few days together in Las Vegas. Keela Mangum and Koye Mecham attended their cousin's funeral in Ogden. D.ra Littlefield ac-compliuhfd her mother and grazjftbother to Ogden to attend the funeral service for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Preal Baldwin. The.E. R. Shakespears were in Cedar City and Kanab visiting with their children. Larry Adair made a business trip to Salt Lake City. The Gene Chy noweths were in Las Vegas visiting with their daughter this past week. Jenny LaFevre and Leda Jolley attended a special workshop in Cedar City this past week. Mr. and Mrs. John Mecham visited in Hatch one day this past week. Fred Syrett received severe burns on his hand while working in one of their new motel units. Vern Shakespear Is a patient in the Panguitch Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Carl LeFevre, Bertha Riding Espling, and Ethef Riding Inlay were in Tropic for their briother George's farewell Sunday. Mary Jo Barton and Jean-nette Sawyer were at the Alton Shakespear home to help their father celebrate his birthday. Calvin Nielsen was in Tropic visiting with his sisters, Ver-della and Minnie. |
