Show Judges Inspect Projects In City's Progress Judges for the Community Progress program in the State of Utah flew Into Panguitch, Oct. 9 to review the projects completed by ths city in the past two years. They reviewed the projects of oiled streets, water brought up to fire standards, graveled streets in the cemetery, solid waste disposal system, dog pound, TV translators on west hill and FM system, park facility, increased lighting installations, curb and gutter on south Main, old cars removed and city room. The judges were especially impressed with areas where the ditch banks have been cut down and grass planted on the sidewals. They also expressed the beauty of grass walks when it is so difficult to keep cement in good repair because of cold weather. They indicated they were pleased that the council has adopted the goal of having the ditch banks cut down and the grass planted in front of all lots. They thought the ditches were an asset to the community when they are cared for. |
