Show Kaiparowits Impact To Be Aired At Local Meet The impact of the proposed Kaiparowits Project on Garfield County and southern Utah will be the topic of a public meeting scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 29 in Panguitch at the Garfield County Courthouse at 1 p.m. Among the questions to be answered by power company -officials include: -Will the KaiparowitM Project be a good thing for Garfield County? Will it meet aovernment environmental standards? What will it do for our schools, workers, tourist trade, cities, towns and taxpayers? Utility companies participating in the Kaiparowits Project think the people of Garfield County hve a right to Utility companies participating in the Kaiparowits Project think the people of Garfield County have a right to direct answers to whatever questions they have regarding the power plant and how it affects them and their children, according to Robert S. Currie, Kaiparowits, Project manager. He explained that other meetings in southern Utah will be held as follows: Tuesday, Oct, 29, Richfield. 7 p.m., Utah Power and Light auditorium; Wednesday, Oct. 30, Cedar City, City Building, 7 p.m.; Thursday, Oct, 31, Kanab, Kane County Courthouse, 7 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 1, St. George, Washington County Courthouse, 7 p.m. |
