Show Plans Readied For An Earlier Garfield County Fair To Be Held Aug 2 Thru 5 The Annual Garfield County Fair Is being held earlier than usual this year on August 2 through 5. A schedule of activities Is given on another page of this issue of the News. ART SHOW AT FAIR Garfield County Art lovers are urged to help promote art by supporting the annual Art exhibit held in connection with the Fair August 2 through 5. Entries must be at the Panguitch Elementary School Wednesday, August 2nd, according to committee chairman Nedra Tebbs. In addition to entries to be Judged others may be displayed for sale, or display only. If for sale, pric tag with name and address should be on the painting. All pictures must be ready for hanging. Prizes will be given for best oil, acrylic, water color etc In various age categories. LIVESTOCK DIVISION The Livestock Division of the Garfield County Fair will get started at 8 a.m. on Satur day, August 5th. Everyone who plans to enter livestock should have it entered by 8 a.m. The Junior Livestock Show manship contest In beef, sheep and swine will start at 8:30. The Livestock Judging contests for both Junior and sen lor divisions will start at 9 a.m. Trophies and Individual prizes will be given In both the Junior and senior divisions. Everyone is invited to try his judging skill in this contest The livestock exhibits will be Judged at 10 a.m. There will be classes in the following: BEEF, both Fat and Breeding. SHEEP: both mutton wool breeds and Fats. SWINE: both Breeding and Fat. Trophies or belt buckles will be given in each class where the Judge feels the class warrants one. The livestock committee Invites everyone to participate. In the Judging contest, enter livestock or just coma and look over the Livestock exhibits on Saturday, August 5th. |
