Show SILVER BEAVER AWARD Earl Roe, Panguitch educa-tr and Scoutmaster, received Scoutlng's highest award, the Silver Beaver, at the council annual awards and fellowship banquet on the BYU campus, April 13th. The citation presented to Mr. Roe read: Scoutmaster Committee Chairman. Assistant Scoutmaster. Institutional Representative, Cubmaster. Elders Quorum President LDS Church', MIA Superintcndency, Panguitch City Councilman, President JayCees, member Wildlife Federation. Gun Safety and Survival Training Instructor, member Panguitch Lions Club. Earl has been active in Scouting all of his life. For the past 12 years he has been a Scoutmaster and prior to that he was a Cubmaster. He is a real outdoorsman, taking his Troop to camp and providing at least ten days and nights of Scout camping each year. His broiled porcupine steak and sour-dough biscuits are remembered by everyone who has been in or near his troop. Earl served as a Troop leader at the 7th National Jamboree in Idaho and at the World Jamboree In Japan last summer where he made a fine contribution. He is truly a full-time teacher. |
