Vernon Spencer took his father Andrew north for a checkup and the doctor scheduled him for surgery next month. Dick and Do-rene Schow have been here, she Is recovering from heart surgery. , . . Arden Taylor was brought off the Job sick, he was work-Ing In the Richfield area. Dean Gledhill took his place. Klynn Haws la on that Job and Mar-lene went out to visit him. Others having business in Richfield were Marie Porter, Caroline Williams, Ruth Lay. Carol Barney. John and Yukon Norman. Doyle Cottam spent a week in Salt Lake getting special Insructlon on his assessor Job, hope it was not on raising taxej. The Vln Spencers have a new grandson born to Ronald and Linda in Cedar City. Hllo and Lettle Boyce have a new great grandson born to .Cine and Le-ona' daughter Arlene. Eldon Griffin has Amber and the two girls back home. Darrell Alvey went to Beaver to a race horse association meeting, then he and Dianne went north to an eye doctor. Ruth and Mate Baugh of Tropic visited the Blake Robinsons. Lane and Geraldlne Liston spent a week In Las Vegas with Ron Mecham and family. Dixie and The- ron Mitchell and Jaleen Pollock spent the weekend there. Dennis Lott and Don Coleman are building a house in Tropic for Adrian Pollock, John Palmer spent a few days here at the Jaleen Pollock home. Alfred and Connie Jep-son and family came from California for Thanksgiving. Ren-on Reed and daughters, and Collette and Cheryl Roundy came from Monroe, LaRae Roundy came from Cedar City and took her girls to Boulder for the weekend. Kent Parsons came on business from Richfield so Vernon Dean Roundy and son came with him to visit at the Ott Roundys. Morris and Neta Shirts are home for the winter, the morning after the big snow they found big man tracks all around their house, they never were sure who made them, it could have been some dogood neighbor breaking trails. Idel-la and Frank Imlay were smart, they got out before the snow and went to Delta to visit Francis and family. Marjie Spencer went to Salt Lake City on school business. In Sacrament meeting Sunday the North ward program was put on by the Tropic Seminary the South ward speakers were Cal Porter and Lynn Button. Don Coleman was released as Sunday School Supt. and Robert Liston put in the office with Hyrum Coleman and Dale Wilson as assistants. Elmer and Grace Moosman, Beumont and Verda Griffin went to St. George where they were joined by Verna and Shannon Partridge and went on to Las Vegas to visit their kinsman, Ruth and Kendal Bunker. They came home by Pipe Springs and visited Addle and Delmcr Spencer in Glendale. The High School Seniors spent a day in Pangultch for Career day. It's a good thing the Elmer Smiths got home before the big snow, he was kept busy shoveling trails for the dog. Roland Allen of Panguitch had business here. Ivan, Nelda and Blaine Willis visited family members in Richfield. Tony Larson came from California to put over another black and white cow deal and bring a little puppy dog to Beryl Shurtz. Does anyone here have a place big enough to house a fire truck? Frank Leak offered to donate one to the town if they would furnish a house for it. The town and the Jeep posse donated $500 toward the purchasing of an ambulance, they were hoping for some State or Federal aid on the project. Warren Woolsey came from Cedar City and left his touring car to take a pickup back to move into a house they are planning on buying. Thelma Marsh and Rctha Shurtz went to help with the cleaning, moving, and baby sitting. Beryl went over and got Retha, then Dale Marsh went on Saturday and with the help of Bill and Sharon Francisco and boys they got Warren and Kathleen moved, but not entirely unpacked. Dale Marsh and Doyle Cottam went to Panguitch for County meetings. The BLM men Bill Lamb, Bob Mlchcll and a man named Darwin from Kanab started a horseback trip over the An-tonne ledges, down through Death Hollow. It snowed and they lost the trails and killed so much time it got dark so they spent a long night on the Antonne. They knew they were ok but their wives wondered. Bill walked out the next morning and the others followed, but they left the horses until the snow slid off the ledges. There's rugged individualists who always make a fuss wanting to be different from all the rest of us, did they ever stop to think that in spite of their zest each individualist looks Just like the rest. |
