Show JULY CITY COUNCIL NEWS Council Mai shall stated that there had been good reports on Deputy Marshal Keith Cart-wright who has been on temporary basis, so It was decided employ him on a permanent basis. Voted to donate $125.00 to the County Fair Board. John Torgenson presented a plan of caring for 225.000 fish for six weeks to replant the Panguitch Lake after it has been poisoned after September 1st. The City voted the Chamber of Commerce $500 to help with projects. Liza Moore presented a plan for rezoning her property at the New Western Motel. She wishes to construct new building closer to the street than C3 allows. She wishes to set out five feet. This was submitted to te Board of Adjustment to make decision on the variance. Ralph Chandler requested information on city business licensing. He requested that companies delivering signs, equipment, etc. be required to uv a license. The laws state that anyone soliciting business in the community must pur-ch?se a license. But if anyone goes out to buy the delivery Person does not need a license. He also questioned what people can use the city water for. It was the opinion that since the water is run through a meter the buyer can use the water as he sees fit. Earl Sevy and Frank Daly presented information on oiling the cemetery roads, The council voted to give them what aid they could in this undertaking. Water rates for the cemetery were also discussed. Attorney Spendlove submitted a budget for his department. Voted to raise his salary to $150.00 a month and give him money for deputy and office supplies. All these items amount to a budget of $3,060. Passed on the final budget which amounts to $74,234.24. The largest amount of money is appropriated to streets and roads for this year. Guy Pollock from the State Road Commission was present to get a date for the streets to be oiled. It was estimated that the streets to be oiled would be ready in two weeks. |
