Millard Davis Is home from the Veteran's hospital wearing a cast on his foot, he has to drag that around for a month and go back. Ernie Hill was bitten by a dog, it came to the trailer court and bit him on the hand, he did not know who it belonged to but said it was black with a white face so if you have a dog like that see If it has any symptoms of rabies. Mr. Hill went to a doctor for shots. Forest Alvey is back to work after a selge of pneumonia. Lavina Pollock Is home from visiting Fay and Vic Van Oos-tendorp nd two daughters in Calif. She came by bus and Allen and Arnold Alvey met her in Cedar City. Others going to Cedar were Geraldlne Liston and Linda Mecham, Linda had her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stubbs of Parowan here visiting. SUrns and Fon Mecham visited in Provo and went on to Salt Lake for conference. Their grandson Kim Mecham celebrated his first birthday anniversary. Others we heard of attending conference were Lo-rell and Nelda Munson, the rtake Relief Society workers, Millie Mclnelly, Lizzie Porter, Nethella Woolsey, Veda Mitchell and Dena Alvey. Vergene and Caroline Porter took their boys to Provo for special shoes and on up for conference. Ivan and Nelda Willis have a new grandson born to Maureen and Wayne Dean of San Diego, this makes them three boys and a girl. The Willis home had Elwood and Vaunda and family here for the weekend from Richfield, Elwood got hla elk. The Don Kellys hnvp now car. the Lvnn Mc lnelly s went to Richfield bringing back a new pickup, Mary Ellen Coleman accompanied them. Nell Barker had daughter Betty Jean Ross here from Colorado, she flew in and drove a pickup back. Iris and Kate Porter went to Salt Lake to visit. Iris came back with Twila and Guy Lemming to stay several days while Guy was laid off work with hand injuries. Zelma Wilson missed the driver's license date here so had to go to Pan gultch. Kolleen Griffin accompanied her to visit relatives. Others having business there were Dixie and Tracey Mitchell, Usher Spencer and Em-morn I) odds Starns and Fon Mecham, De-on Alvey, Marlene Haws and Geraldlne Liston went to Tropic for the funeral services of their kinsman, John Hatch. Bob Sorenson and Harry Sooty went to Idaho seeking stones The Stan Haycocks hsd son Woodrow and family here for the weekend. Dale Wilson came from Logan and Grena Mclnelly from CSU to help with the cattle. Erma and Kay Gates went to Richfield, so did Mother Alvey and myself on an unplanned trip which friend husband called a wild goose chase, we did not catch the goose but the dickens instead Gordon Baker got word that his mother, Marv Savage had been serlouslv Injured in a car wreck so went to Salt Lake Ci ty to be with her Roy Barker and Clema George came from Salt I-ake City to get their mo-t'ier Adelia Barker who was not too well and having troubles beside, she lost her glass es and had water pipes break. Allen Barker is In the hospital quite 111. Jessie Morrill of Junction was here selling and repairing sewing machines. Both ward Relief Societies held opening socials Tuesday serving ham dinners to members and guests. State Road and Forest officials met with Paul Steed over the hauling of saw mill timber off the Boulder Mountain, there seems to be a bit of controverts ry. Natalie Bailey, ten year old daughter of McKay and LaFaye took a blue ribbon on her cookies at the County Fair, then took some to the State Fair and got more blue ribbons. The Berlin Osborns bid goodbye to son David who volunteered for the Air Force and Is stationed In Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Les Johns flew to Farmington, New Mexico. Billie Barker of St. George visited here. Joann Allbrkh and a lady friend of Blcknell visited her grandparents, the Ernie Griffins. Sariah Alvey, Hilda Roundy and Lucile Cowles went to Panguitch to meet Governor Rampton and other officials. We were waiting for Susan Shurtz to come home for a testimonial before leaving for her mission and found that she Is in Japan all ready learning the language first hand. Minnie Davis celebrated her birthday anniversary with the help of relatives and friends here during the week, Billle's anniversary came on the week end so his family members could come; Bonnie and Hol-bert Smith and son Robert came from Cedar City, Al and Leda Mae Foster and family from Tropic. The Valley Finance officials held a meeting and had dinner at Leah's cafe, those coming from out of town were Mr, and Mrs. McKlnley Morrell of Junction, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Thompson of Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Don Swspp of Kanab.
