Show r-rter Day Sunny - Then It Snowed The cold, brisk winds of Saturday, April 13, settled down to a mild breeze on Sunday to give us a perfect Easter day with the high temperature reaching 65. High temperature for the week was 68 recorded on Thursday, April 11. The low was freezing 12 recorded on Sunday morning, April 14. We have measured .10 inches of moisture as of 10:00 A M Wednesday. April 17. and snow is still falling steadily. Red Canyon Campground was enjoyed by campers, picnickers, and hikers during the Easter weekend. The camp ground Is open for use with garbage and toilet facilities provided. Water will not be a-vallable until the weather warms up enough to assure water will not freeze in the pipes and break them. Tables, swings, signs, and toilets have recently been stained and painted and users should check these facilities before using to be sure they have dried thoroughly. Red Canyon Campground is a fee area under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act and permits are required. The 1967 Golden Eagle Passports expired as of March 31, 1968. Golden Eagle Passports for 1968 mas be purchased at the Forest Service Office In Panguitch. |
