Had a nice letter from Maude Reynolds she is feeling much better and back in Richfield Tom and Ann brought her home and Mrs. King sent for her to come right to her house so she could take care of her Mary Hisky stayed with Mrs King while Maude was gone. Maude said the first ten days she did not know whether she would pull through or not, her doctor said she did remarka bly well and they agreed that the prayers and moral support of her family and friends was a big help. She got so many cards and letters she could not begin to answer each one so asked me to thank everyone and also those who took time to visit her at the hospital. She was on the same floor as So-pha Schurtz but Sopha wa? not able to talk, her daughter Bula visited Maude and has now taken Sopha to the Rest Home where she works. Forest Ranger Ervin Burrows, Assistant Ranger Grant Thorson and Range Conserva tionist Craig Whittekiend spent three days last week at tending meetings in Cedar City for professional Forest Service men. Craig has been here two and one half years but is being transferred to the Ogden district next month, he will still be a range conservationist but in the recreation division Coleen Burrows who i s health coordinator for the PTA, a position she has held since 04, was called to Pan guitch for training in Amblyopia, lazy eye blindness. Others on the health committee are Geraldine Liston. Lucilc Cowles, Judy Brooks, Jalene Pollock, and Rolaine Lyman. Jay Fred Whitney from the State Dept. of public education training all of Garfield County committeemen. There will be a screening here Wednesday, April 24, at the Elementary school in the A.M. for children from 3V4 to 5 years of age. Mr. Whitney indicated that Garfield County has screened 79 per cent of their preschool children, they are only surpassed by one other county. Coleen, Laretta Spencer and June Thorson went to Circle-ville for a club meeting of Forest Service men's wives, it is in the Panguitch district and called the Pine Nuts. Elmer Moosman of West Jordon called his sister Verda Griffin and asked her and Beumont to meet him and wife in Richfield to spend Easter Sunday, they had dinner and visited. They went to the hospital to see Phi-lo Pratt and found him under oxygen, they also found Lois Eckersley of Wayne County there in the hospital. Dave and Ann Seymore and family came from Salt Lake City for the weekend and visited friends here. Ed and Delia Boyd returned to Butte, Montana after ten days of sightseeing with Lola Zenz and visiting with her and John. Relatives here got word that Bruce Wilson has been transferred back to Utah for which he and Donna Gene arc both grateful. Charles Wilson has almost finished his training in Florida preparing him for work In Viet Nam. Clema Barney and three kids came from Page to spend Easter with her mother, Jane Woolsey. The Ixrin Griffins had granddaughter Vicki here. The Lorenzo Griffins had son I is and family from Provo, and daughter Lois, her husband Evan R and daughters from Las Veg as. Boyd Alvey went to Spring-ville and brought his sister II ene Coffman and three child ren home for Easter Frank and Idella Imlay got word that daughter-in-law, Durbara had to go back in'o the hospital so they went to Filmore to care for the ii' w baby and the old er girl The Blake RoMnsoi had most of their family here , Beth came first but had to leave before the others came. Blake Dee and family came from Salt l.akc. Ben and Re-nee Porter and family from Provo, Juana Staples and (am 11) from Richfield, and Ruth and Mait Raugh and family of Tropic The Hoi Porters had son Haws, his wife Janet and all of their family except son Glin Who is attending barber school, they also had one of the daughters of Maxine Horrlcks Vergenc and Caroline Porter and family went to Mesa. Ari zona for Easter Hal and Gen eal slum, and family went to Salt Lake for the weekend The Hynim Colemans had Ir-(nc and Louise Brown home Shona Griffin went to Pan quitch with coach Excell to spend the long weekend with her sister Caroline whobrou-n" t her home. Guy Pollock and family were here from Richfield : Lavina has gone to California to cot acquainted with that tiny new girl at the Van Oostendorp home. Gwen Lyman just returned from Illinois where she spent two weeks with daughter DeAnna Greer and family, they have a tiny new daughter Mary Lyman was in Salt Lake City to an eye specialist and was better, so Orabell Weigle brought her and Gwen to Richfield where other family members met them and brought them on home. Gwen and Randal got an invitation to the wedding of Robbie Van Hemert but Gwen had to leave too soon. Eugene King of Antimony was here buying cattle. Dawn Griffin, Deon Alvey, and Fon Mecham went to Cedar City so did Vernon and Anna Lee Spencer. Dorthy and Newell Cowles were here from Richfield, Ivan and Clea Shurtz and baby from Nevada, Marion and Larae Allen and family. Ronnie Wooley was home with a girl friend, his grandmother Clarie Wooley of Or-em is here. The Otto Roundys had son Vernon Dean and wife Peg and two daughters, Renon and Gene Reed and daughters from Monroe. The Gene Griffins had her folks, the Wilford Roes and the Harold Sevys and family 0 f Panguitch here. Blake Schow brought his father Mike home for the summer. Andrew and Isabell Spencer came from St . George The Stan Haycocks had son Woodrow and Doug and family home. Bill and Winona Boyle went to Maine to visit his folks. Que Porter and family of Kearns visited Em-mett Porter briefly. The Mori-as Halls had son Joe and wife, and daughter Arlene here. Delia Christiansen was home for the weekend. Clella and 1 y Woolsey went to Wyoming to visit Judy Ludgate and fam ily. Meletta and Lorin Cottam went to Springville. C. R. and Ruby Griffin had business in Richfield. Jillyn Haws had a birthday party. Lucile Cowles had business in Panguitch, so did Clyde Spencer and the Wayne Barneys. Dennie Cowles is getting a mite homesick, he sends best regards to everyone back home. Beryl and Retha Shurtz had son Carlyle and family here. The Willis home had El-wood and Vaunda and family of Richfield. The Vic Cottams had son Delmar from Las Vegas and son Kent and family from Cedar City While Vic and Euzell were in Calif, visiting Disneyland they came face to face with her brother Emil Roundy, his wife and part of their family from Cedar City, and neither knew the others were there until they met. Missed last week 'he assem bly program brought here by the Dixie college, then this week a man came with his snakes to entertain the students. The Year Book staff put on a successful carnival and dance. The Relief Society Stake officers and others went to Boulder for meeting. Billie and Minnie Davis went to Richfield and on to Provo for eye examination. The Riding Club held a meeting at Leah's cafe to plan the Race meet. Dr Lars Peterson and step son Monty of Spanish Fork visited relatives here. DUP meeting was held in the relic hall with a good atlewlancr Maurice and Joan Alurechl and family of Wayne County visited here Marlvn Liston and David Griffin were home for the weekend, Marlyn to show off her diamond and help her dad Grant Liston celebrate his birthdav alone with Easter. Stake quarterly eonferenc was held as scheduled wit 'i meetings Saturday for Stake and ward officers, the general session was held Sunday morning with talks by Chase Shurtz, Malen Mecham, Alfred Christ-ensen and the visiting authority, Brother Sill. The singing was done by the Singing Mothers and the Primary child ren. Sacrament meeting was held at night with Clyde Spencer and Leland Haws speaking in the South Ward and some Tropic boys, Vernal Mecham and Dewayne Stewart in the North Did you ever take a wad of snow and squeeze it up until it 'ormed a ball then throw it out and roll it down the hill?
