Show Many Honor 'Aunt Mattie' Kocherhans At Open House On Her 80th Birthday An open house, honoring the 80th birthday anniversary of Nancy Matilda Kocherhans (affectionately known as "Aunt Mattie). was held Sunday afternoon at the home of Edwin and Alta Talbot, brother and sister-in-law of the honor guest. Mrs. Kocherhans was born September 8, 1887 at Pan guitch, a daughter of William Robert and Nancy Matilda Welch Talbot. She was mar rled to David Samuel Kocherhans December 18, 1905 at Panguitch; the marriage was later solemnized in the St. George temple He died Aug ust 7, 1936. They were the parents of one daughter, Elsie (the late Mrs. William B. Proctor). Mrs Kocherhans has resided at the Proctor home for the last four years. In the earlier years of their marriage they made a home for five of her brother's children and later grandchildren Two brothers and the father also lived with them n number of years She has been an active member of the L.D.S. Church, hav ing served us a Relief Society visiting teacher for fifty years and was secretary of the Pan guitch North Ward Sunday School for ten years. She was also a worker In the Red Cross. Her hobby is her handiwork She has made over one nun dred star quilts and many other designs. She makes lovely rugs and crocheted articles. Many friends and relatives attended the open house.
