Show STATE SURVEY ON GRADUATES INTENTIONS A statewide survey by the State Bosrd of Education entitled "Intentions of Utah's High School Graduates" wss recently completed on last year's Seniors The following brings out lo-c a 1 comparisons although there is no normal with which to measure what Is best Post H.S. Other Schools: State 18; B VHS 8.3 , EHS 7 1; PHS 9 5 Military State 19; BVHS 0; EHS 0; PHS 0 A recent study showed that Utah's production of college and university people in professional fields were out of kilter with the state's Job mar ket. While the greatest over-supply is in tescher education and social sciences, there Is n (Treat need for technicians in health areas such as x-ray and medical technicians which require one. two, or three years of schooling. In Garfield's high schools over the past 2 or 3 years, emphasis has been given in presenting the trades vocational opportunities found in technical schools, the military's vocational training and through the apprenticeship program according to J Weston Woodbury, District Counselor |
