Show Fscalane CWt C.ha BY FAY ALVEY Had a few snow flurries which always cools things off and it is still cloudy. There were a large number of disap pointed hunters and still a lot of buck were shot down and carried out. Never saw so many hunters, looked like all of California moved I n and brought friends. Ray Griffin Is home from the Salt Lake hospital rather weak but feeling better. Mel Brooks Is home from the Page hospital walking very carefully, he had a pinched nerve in hii back. James Mclnelly went to the Pangultch hospital and waa told he needed surgery. Joyce Coleman still has her arm in a cast but her bruises are fading away, she joined her parents, Don and Lillian in thanking everyone for their cards and visits and being so concerned while she was laid up. Frank Coleman took Kath-eryn to Salt Lake City to her doctor and she was able to come home with him. Melba Gates is managing Ruby's Motel for the new owners. Vert Hard wick came from Mldvale with Roy last weekend and visited relatives here. Em-morn Dodda went to Salt Lake City to be examined for the Service, they said don't call us we'll call you. Holbort and Bonnie Smith and son Robert came from Cedar City for Sunday dinner at the Billie Davis home. The Stan Haycocks had Doug and Barbara and family here from Moab and Doneta home from Cedar City. Lola Barney went to Salt Lake City to fly to Hawaii to visit husband Ray who was on leave from Vietnam. Sam and Mary Blauser came from Kays-ville and moved into the old Chrlstensen family home down by the creek. Don and Deanna Heap and family and the Asay buys who are building Don's house went to Hatch Sunday to hear Bruce Dalton report his mission. Fourteen members of the South ward went to St. George Saturday for a temple excursion. Jim Yardley of Pangultch and Hy Lee of Beaver were In town shaking hands and asking for votes. Koleen Griffin had a surprise visit from her sister and husband, Ray and Vernon Lemmon from Mesa. Arizona. Mack and Jo Barnev were here for the hunt, Mack hunted and Jo did nice things for her mother, Renee Osborn. Vivian Grueaux and Betty Schow came from north to visit their father Ray Shurtz and other relatives. Ken and Gladys Rowley of Whittier, Calif, came for the wedding and were going on to Salt Lake Citv to visit Myrtle and William Henrie Gates. Mr Gates Is in a rest home now Bobby and Rosella Griffin were here for the hunt and stayed for the wedding: did not get to eee them but relatives say he Is just fine since his operation, in fact they were afraid he would be tempted to not act his ape he felt so good. He had a teflon valve in one side of his heart and when he opens his mouth anyone close can hear It beat. Ravmond Griffin and family of Richfield wrre at the Vernon Griffin home Nelda and Ivan Willis hunted their way to Beaver and Richfield and hunted their way back, they never saw a deer and usually there are so many they interfere with the traffic. Leda Pratt had a week's visit from daughter Lorene Carrig-an and baby from Salt Lake, she and Barbara Shakespear of Tropic came together. Leda had a letter from Cle-via Mclnelly in California telling how she would like to come back and visit with friends here. She has had surgery and is grieving over the sudden death of son Sylvester, her other son died several years ago so she has only her daughter left and she is in a wheel chair. Ora Schow has her father, Ezra Curtis here visiting. The Lovell Twitchells had Rotls and Beth Coleman and family of Richfield and DeAnn Gillies of Pangultch. Lewis Griffin and sons of Provo were at the Lorenzo Griffin home. Co-leen and Ervin Burrows went to Rexburg, Idaho to find living quarters, the children stayed here with friends. Stake Priesthood Leadership meeting was held Sunday in the South ward; in the North ward fast meeting, Richard and Christine Tatman had their baby daughter christened, Lorenzo Griffin did the honors The Marvin Mounteers have son Paul home from the Service, he had hoped to get Into school at BYU but It was so crowded he will have to wait until September. He had Renee Rich here from Orem for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Walker and their son-in-law Dr. Fair-child of Calif, were here for the hunt camped up Pine Creek. The Walkers felt very secure having a doctor In camp as he was prepared for any emergency short of surgery, he had a good supply of aspirin and burn salve, so he was prepared. Relatives of Do-rette Gledhill got word she had given birth to twins but one had died. Mel and Vaughn Rlchins and sons Kirk and Dave, Linda Hill, Neldon Mitchell, Richard and Edith Sharp. Renee Porter and three children were at the Blake Robinsons, Aloha Porter and two children, Bernlce I-oslee and five girls, Jackie Griggs. Alvin Cowles and wife from Salt Lake, Newell Cowles and wife from Richfield. Coleen and Glen Imlay. son Jerry and daughter Fran-kie Lou from Kanoah. These people came for the hunt or the wedding or both. Roads are being made to put a new rig in the Collit area. The Marshes, Sharon Dale, Shirley and Thelma went to Cedar City for the weekend so Sharon Dale could hunt with Warren Woolsev and Thelma visit Kathleen The bovs hunted but all in vain, of course Shirlev and the girls vWted her folks Fronk and Idella Imlav w -t to Fillmore to eet a deer out never got a shot, thev did get one enroute home. The clocks turned back one hour it keeps us agitated the new time now Is the old time. It's really complicated. |
