Show Morsholls To Be Honored on 50th Date Mr and Mrs. W. Earl Marshall, of Panguitch, are celebrating fifty yean of happy married life. They were married March 14, 1917, one year after Earl had opened his first Drug Store in the building now occupied by the Classic Shop. During their fifty years they have raised and educated seven sons and daughters. Two of them are registered pharmacists; Tom, who is assistant chief pharmacist at the Vete rans Hospital in Salt Lake City, and Monte, who is a partner in the Panguitch Drug Co. Mrs Marshall has been active in Auxiliaries of the Church and Civic Clubs in Panguitch. In her earlier life she was very active with her theatrical talents. People remembering back to the 1920's will re call her great talent in this field It was a very cold day February 1, 1916, when Earl Marshall opened the doors of his first Elk Pharmacy, in fact it was so cold that John Morrell, of Junction, froze to death while trying to cross Panguitch Lake on snowshoes. Karl had scouted Panguitch while visiting with his sister, Mrs Hans Ipson, the previous holiday season At this time he WU a graduate Of the Univcr-sit) of Southern California one year and had been working in California on his first pharmacy job. Since that cold day in February 1916, Mr. Marshall has made much progress in his profession. Mr Marshall has taken an ac-Uve role in civic affairs. He served four terms as Mayor of Panguitch! at which time many improvements were made in our city. He has served on the hospital board for over twenty yean, and was the first president of the hospital board. He as the one who did much to get our hospital finished and in operation. The Marshall's seven child- ten are Tom Monte, Joe, Donald. Mildred. Evelyn and Barbara |
