Show f Local and Society j ENGAGED Miss Linda Lou Alvey Mr. and Mrs. Smith Alvey of Escalante announce the engagement of their daughter, Linda Lou, to Jay L Stokes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Asa B. . Stokes of Brigham City. Miss Alvey is presently studying at Utah State University where she is a senior majoring in Home Economics. Mr. Stokes is a graduate of USU and is now enrolled in post-graduate work in Spanish at the University of Utah. He has completed a mission for the LDS Church in Argentina. The couple plans an early spring wedding. M.I .RED - HOUSTON Wedding vows were exchanged by Janet Marie All-rod and D. Fred Houston in a ceremony performed in the St. George Temple on Oat. 2. The couple was honored at a wedding luncheon at a cafe in St Georce, Riven ly the groom's parents. Mr and Mrs. Dee Houston of Panguitch. The bride, who attended the BYU, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darol D Allred of Lub-liock. Texas. The bridegroom Is a Junior at SCSU in Cedar City. They arc making their home in Cedar while he attends school. Accompanying the couple to St. George for the wedding were parents of both the bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Huntington, Mrs. Gale Wil-cock of Hatch, David Houston and the John Houstons of Panguitch. the Archie Hoopes of St. George, Leo Beckwith of Mt. Carmel. TO WED J H 'am, i Miss Beth Robinson Mr. and Mrs. Blake Robinson 1 of Escalante announce the en- ' gagement and forthcoming , marriage of their daughter, Beth, to Bruce Jacobson of Montrose, Calif., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Jocobson of j Lee, Illinois. 4 Since graduating with a BS degree In Nursing from Brig- ham Young University, Miss 4 Robinson has been employed 4 as a nurse in Los Angeles, and 4 is at the present time teaching 4 nursing in the Los Angeles 4 County Hospital. 4 Mr. Jacobson attended 4 schools in Illinois and is now 4 employed in Los Angeles. ' The young couple will be married in an LDS Church 1 wedding in Montrose, Calif, on ' October 24th. ' |
