Show Bobcats Shut Out T-Birds in Dual Cross Country The Pangultch Bobcat cross country team continued to how great improvement as It shut out Piute completely la a Monday afternoon dual meet at Pangultch. Dave Smith of Piute won first place In the meet at June Hon last week, but the best he could do was 7th In the Pan gultch meet, being beaten by no less than six Bobcats aa Pangultch scored a perfect IS points to &8 for Piute. Richard Dix was the big man for Pangultch as he finished first in a time of 10 minutes and SI seconds oyer the two mile course. Other Pangultch point getters were Robert Yardley. 2nd in 10 39. Lanny Talbot. 3rd in 10 40: Donald Stowell. 4th In 10-42; Sevan lienrie. 5th in 10:45; Charles Barney, 6th, to give the Bobcats Insurance Piute's first five men finished In 7th. 8th. 11th, 13th. and 16th places to score 55 points for Piute Remembering that the team with the lowest score wins in cross country, and that last week's score was Pan- gu itch 21 and Piute 52. one can see that the 'cats are improving In the Junior Varsity race over 15 miles, Piute contln ued to dominate the young cats, although the Jayvces also showed great Improvement over last week when the 'birds trounced them 16-55 This week's score was Piute 23, Tanguitch 34. Scorers for Pangultch were Dean Englestnl 3rd; Kelvin Yazzle. 4th; Brad Gillies. 6th; Kenneth Partridge 10th; Kurt Sawyer. 11th Pi ute scored their 23 points by gaining 1st. 2nd. 5th. 7th. and 8th positions. Next meet for the Pangultch team is at Bryce Valley on October 22, at 4 p.m. |
