Show Henrieville News Items MELBA D SMITH Melba Smith brought JoAnn home from the Primary Children'! Hospital at Salt Lake last Friday They left Mildred Deuel at her home In Panguitch. JoAnn waa in the hos pltal for two weeka. she is improving but It will take several months for her to be well again We want to thank every one for the cards, letters, gifts, etc. that were sent to her. It wis appreciated very much Alio thanks to the people in town for what they done for the family while I was gone. Graveside services were held here Saturday for Jean Palmer, 17. daughter of Verle and Rom Smith Palmer of Page We extend deepest sympathy to this family. The Relief Society served lunch at the chapel after the services Mr and Mrs Kenneth Goul-ding attended a family dinner in Tropic on Sunday in honor of Robert Mlddleton on his birthday. Kathryn Pollock of Salt Lake was home for the weekend to visit her mother and family Both she and her mother received flowers from her husband David from Hawaii. The Sunday School presented a Mother's Day program on Sunday and presented each mother with a potted plant. Speakers In Sacrament meeting were Thorley Johnson and Ellis LeFevre. Irving and Viola Rose attended funeral services at Page for Jean Palmer. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. James Burrows of Hatch visited at the Irving Rose home. Birthdays this week are Irving and Artolse Rose, Orla Gae Zabriskie, Rhoda Shafer, Benjamin James Baugh, Dorian Johnson. Nephl Gouldlng and Shelley Griffin Anniversaries were David and Delpha Rose, and Kenneth and Elsie Colliding Lee and Thelma Smith and boys visited at Escalante with l er parents, the H I Alveys for Mother's Day. Gene and Danny Chynoweth went to check cattle down Cottonwood When they didn't return Tuesday morning I.ula and Frank Moore and Roxle Chynoweth took the jeep and went to hunt them. Due to the rain storms they couldn't make it back. They also found a couple from Ohio with their 3 year old boy and 5 year old girl stuck in the mud at the Cottonwood Wash at the Blue Clay Dugway. They helped get the two outfits out and back to ground where they could travel on their own. They got back to Cannonvillc about six that night. The Rex Palmer family of Ogden are visiting here with relatives, they came to attend funeral services here. Royce and Suzanne Griffin and sons visited at the Leland Griffin home over the weekend. Boyce went on the BYU field trip in upper valley with our local county geologist group Ward and Iila Griffin were here from Hurricane for the funeral and to visit her sister Berthene Griffin The Ammon Barkers received word that their son Leslie has been moved back to Calif from South Carolina Those attending the MIA Maid program at Escalante were Shelley Griffin, Barbara and Dorothy Smith, Elayne Johnson, Joanne Rose, Beth Partner and their mothers. Ruby Moore, Thora Partner, Teora Willis. Ewith Barker. Al-lene Riddle. Fawn Goulding, and Delpha Rose have started to work at Bryce Canyon for the summer season. Kay and Laura Clark visited in town over the weekend Zella Willis said that her mother's day had been such a beautiful day with all the lovely greetings and calls from her friends and family. The orch ards loaded with blossoms and lilacs all In bloom She said she was so happy that JoAnn was home again and as well as she is. Also she would like to thank the Sunday School for the lowly potted plant they : nought to her Kay and Maggie Willis and daughter Linda and her husband visited with his mother Fern Willii on Saturday. Richard Willis, grandson of Fern's, has just completed baste train ing and will be sent to another post. Collin and Milton Rose and Brenda Martineau visited the Dave Rose family Friday night and Saturday. |
