Show Moss Reports APW Benefits To County Since its Inception in the fall of 1962, seven projects have been approved for Garfield County under the Accelerated Public Works program according to Senator Frank E. Moss (D-Utah). Following are the projects and the federal fund allocation to each: Four of the projects were for the Forest Service in Dixie National Forest, for road construction in amouunt of $40,000, for construction of buildings and recreation facilities in amount of $126,000. for the repair of buildings and recreation facilities $9,000, and for land treatment in am ount of $55,000. Approved for the Bureau of Land Management for conservation measures was the amount of $224,000. Water facilities were also approved for the town of Es-calanje in amount of $123,000, and for the city of Panguitch in amount of $61,000. On these two projects equal amounts of matching local funds were provided toward the total costs of the projects. Funds for many of the Utah projects were provided by' Congress in the Supplemental Aoproriations bill which Senator Moss suported and which the President signed. |
