Show 90 Years Young 1. H. "Ike" Dickinson came to Panguitch June 1, 1875 from Utah's Dixie with his fathers family of 8 children. He celebrated his 90th anniversary May 31 at home (after Sunday School) with members of his family. The family moved on Dickinson hill fall of 1876 where his father run the old grist mill Ike helped his father in the mill from the time he was 7 years old until his father's death 1894 when he continusd to operate the mill the next 4 years each fall. He attended school in the old frame school house which was used as the ward church and for ward and stake meetings. His teacher most of his school year was George Dodds who had all the grades in one room; finished his schooling in branch of the BYA in the meeting house under John Swenson. Married Bertha Hatch May 31, 1899 in Manti Temple. Served a mission for church Eastern States from April 1900 until spring of 1902. When he was president of YMMIA and 1903 was in superintendency of S. School until 1904. when he was ordained a High priest, set apart as high counselor and 1st assistant Stake superintendent and of Sunday School by Rudger Clawson and J J. Golden Klmbal December 6, 1904. He served with Supt. Alma Barney 14 years, a member of High Council Panguitch Stake under 4 different Presidents. Moved to Santaquin, Utah May 1923 where he continued in different organizations, is now a regular attender at the Priesthood and Sunday School and Sacrament meeting. Has 7 living children, 30 grandchildren, 62 great grand children. Signed I. H. Dickinson |
