Show Plans Made For Annual Garfield County Fair At a meeting Tuesday night, County Fair Chairman Mayo Higgs said plans were completed for the 1966 Garfield County Fair. Several changes will be made in the Fair to make it bigger and better than ever. The Fair will be held August 18-19-20. Everyone is encouraged to exhibit and participate at the Fair. The Panguitch Jaycees will sponsor the Miss Garfield County Fair Queen Contest. This contest will be held Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. in the high school gym. All girls between ages of 17-24 and in good health are encouraged to enter the contest. Any girl interested please contact Mrs. Grant Tcbbs or Mrs. John M. Henrie. If you don't have a sponsor they will get one for you. The Home Arts Division will be under the supervision of the Panguitch Homemakers Club. They would like to en-courage you to bring your articles for display to the Fair. They arc planning a big flower show and art show again this year. Sarah Hepworth and Vera Olsen will head up the pet show again this year. They said that a special show will be held at the end of the pet contest. Tliis will be for those pets which have won first place in previous years. The Livestock Division is headed by Konroy Henrie, Earl . Henrie and James Hatch. Trophies will be awarded the win- ncrs in this division this year. The committee encourages livestock producers to exhibit their animals. The Horse Show has grown each year. This year will be the biggest ever. The Panguitch Riding Club is in charge of the horse show. A special invitation is, extended to horse owners In the county to participate. The Riding Club will also sponsor an Amateur Rodeo Aug. 20, at 8 p.m. All 4-H'ers In the county will be exibiting their work as well as participating in demonstrations, dress review and other events. Plan to come to the Fair this year. |
