Show Forest's Cattle Board Meets The annual meeting of the Dixie National Forest Cattle Advisory Board was held at Panguitch March 26th. Chairman Dean C. Gardner, St. George, called the meeting to order with five of the eight regular board members and three local association presidents present. The Dixie National Forest was represented by Forest Supervisor Jack B. Shumate, Staff Officer Max Green, Rangers Bruce Hronek and Mark Jones, and Assistant Ranger Bill Gee. Rangers reported increased stocking would be permitted on five allotments this year due, to "additional 'forage resulting from range improvement work and better management of livestock. Present board members and Ranger District represented are Carl Harrison, Enterprise; Dean Gardner, St. George; Henry Carrol. Cedar City; Harold Sevy, Panguitch Lake; Vard Heaton, Powell; Pratt Gates, Escalante; Don Taylor, Teas-dale. A replacement has not yet been named for Van Wiley, former Circlevllle Ranger District board member. |
