Show The Word From Boulder ALICE ALVEY Dale Clarkson and Marilyn Griffin attended a Chamber of Commerce meeting in Escalante last week. Otto Haws spent a couple of days in Kan-ab on BLM business recently. His wife Idona is in the. hospital having tests and treatments but should be home in a day or two. Several mothers took their kids to the clinic in Escalante on the 10. Dorthy Lyman went to Panguitch for dental care. Helen Harrison took her family there for medical care then went on to Richfield for business. The Neal Jepsens went to Richfield also, Fay saw Dr. Duggins for a checkup on the way out. Max Bchunin, Dale Clark-son, Richard Griffin, Ivan Lyman and Emeron Peterson were in Panguitch on water business. LaRena Hall went to Salina to see the dentist, Klea Griener went as far as Richfield to visit with Dorthy Cowl-es. Burns and Blom Ormond went out for a load of coal. Kay Ormond wi t to Panguitch to get her car which has been in the garage; her daughter-in-law, Gwen, left for Scottsbluff, Nebraska to stay with her parents, the Bill Hug-gans, until Keith returns from Viet Nam. Merle Coombs' mother, Mrs. Annie Davis, and sister Fran-kie left for their home in Yo-kum, Texas a few days ago after spending three months here. The Doyle Moosmans have their son Reeves Val home on leave from the Air Force for ten days. The Max Behunin's daughter Maxine Sawyer and family of St. George are visiting at their home. Bruce and Donna Jean Wilson and kids of Salt Lake were at her parents, the Lorin Moosmans, over the weekend. David Seymour and another game warden were here with Me LeFevre cougar hunting, Burns Ormond took several men out too. By the way Elaine Roundy didn't sing that duet alone, Renon Peterson helped her. The Relief Society started on a quilt in their last work meeting and some of the women began to make other articles for a bazaar to be held sometime in May. A hearing aid man was in town last Friday but I told him I'd decided I didn't need an aid after all. Our galvanized water tank exploded that morning at 5:30 and blew hilf of my deafness away. It piactlc-ally ruined the furnace and electric tank, blew the basement ( continued on back page P BOULDER (continued) door out, eight window panes, and split three corners of the house wide, open besides bulging out the kitchen walls a couple of Inches and cracking plaster clear through the house. The only thing it didn't damage was the roof and floor. It happened before any one was up or somebody may have been hurt. As it is we're all lucky we weren't blown to Kingdom Come. Everyone has been very nice with offers of help and sympathy and we want to thank them all. The speakers in Sacrament meeting were President Dee Haws, Ira Littlefield and Usher Spencer of the Stake Sunday School and Primary organizations. Fireside was held Sunday evening in the church house. The weather has been down around zero again, seems like this has been a long hard winter and its not over yet according to the weather man. |
