Show FOREST SERVICE NEWS News Of The Weather and Such True to tradition, March came in like a lion with chilling winds and freezing temperatures. Readings the first three days in march were as follows: March 1 28 15 March 2 29 9 March 3 34 4 The high for this reporting period fell on Feb. 27th when 50 was recorded. The low for the period was recorded on Wednesday, March 3rd.- Dixie National Forest employees -from the Circleville, Escalante, Panguitch Lake and Powell Districts will complete a ten hour Red Cross First Aid Training course on March 5th. The training is being given in two five-hour sessions, the first session being held Tuesday, March 2nd, at the Country Corner. Twenty-six people, including Mary Frances Mason and Suzanne Hatch of the Panguitch Clinic, will renew or receive standard and advanced cards. The classes are being conducted by Homer Leach and Jay Sahd of Bryce Canyon National Park. Powell District Ranger Bruce Hronek requests user cooperation to refrain from traveling forest roads during the spring of the year. Soft road beds can be seriously damaged by travel and are costly to repair. Your cooperation will result in better roads for everyone's enjoyment. |
