Show GOPiDinnei Raises Funds The Garfield County Republican party Lincoln Day dinner washeld Feb. 15th at the Elementary School building in Panguitch. Over 100 citizens from all communities in the county attended and were served dinner prepared by the Republican women of the county. County Chairman D. A. Tebbs. of Panguitch pro-sided at the dinner. Blake Robinson of Escalan-te was master of ceremonies. The program consisted of the following; Posting of the colors by Boy Scouts from troop 68i. Pledge of allegiance led by Scout Evan Crosby. Song "America", by the congregation, led by Whorton Allen, accompanied by Elizabeth Foy. Invocation by Thor-,ley Johnson of Henrievllle. Song by trio: Artis Evans, May Sawyer'and Ruth Wilson of Hatch. Commissioners remarks, Sam Pollock of Tropic and LeGrando Farnsworth of Panguitch. Vocal solo, Whorton Allen of 'Panguitch, accompanied by Elizabeth Foy. Talk by Robert .Bennett of Salt 1 Lake City. The key ' note speaker of the evening was Senator Wal-lac F. Bennett, who explained his views on the proposed Canyon Lands National Parks and explained his views for an alternate use of this scenic land as a National Parkway. Two hundred, and seventy-five dollars, was raised from the proceeds l' this dinner. Tho money will be used to promote Republican party activities in the county. |
