Show Fishing Fever Nears Climax Season Opens Saturday W.th general fishing season opening officially this Saturday, the outlook for anglers in this area should bo better than ever before. Wc talked to Gale Wilcock of the Panguitch Fish Hatchery, and he said planting ot trout was more than normal and bigger In size than usual on Mammoth, Panguitch, and a stretch of Asay Crocks and Sevier River. Panguitch Lake is predicted to ba "excellent". Quito early in the year a very large amount of legal size trout were planted. And with the whoppers caught and lost last fall, this will be a fisherman's paradise (if the wind stops blowing). Rich Myers who has a summer home at the Lake was in town today and said the Lake is higher than it has been the last year or so, and lots more water is coming in from creeks and springs. For the first Urns in three years since the poisoning and replanting of Tropic Rescr-voir, this spot will be open this year and should show a Tecord catch. Anglers may fish on the East Fork but only up to Podunk, the creek above is "closed". Posey Lake and other fishing waters in the eastern end of the county should prove to be excellent locations to get at. Fishing hours throughout the season, June 3 to Nov. 3D are 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
