Show THE WORD FROM HOULDER BY ALICE ALVEY I forgot to mention one of the most important things that has happened in my family for a long time. My son Darrell Cecil Alvey was ordained a Deacon and passed the Sacrament in church on Sunday. I was really proud. Speakers in Sacrament meeting were Brother James Mun-son, Stake Sunday School of-fleer from Tropic, and Mrs. Hazel Lyman from St George. Mrs. Lyman is vWting at the homes of her sons Truman, Ivan and Kirk during Memorial holiday Visiting at the home of He-ber Poulson is daughter Dor-othy Jean Alvey and family. At the Lcland Haws home, daughter Beverly Rae Tucker and family. Julie Lyman has come home to stay a while. Wallace Alvey and family of Loa visited relatives here on Sunday, except for son SUn ley who Is recuperating from an operation which he had last week. Ruby Ormond and Uvada Moosman spent Saaurday In , Richfield. I spent the same day In Panguitch at the doctor's office. I'm sure Boulder and Escalante have paid for that hospital a doz. times. Le-ona Lyman, Fay Jepsen and Ncta Poulson all had appointments for the 29th. Irene King rece'ved word her daughter Ann Reynolds of Kanab has a baby girl born on the 28th, name Marena. Margio Griffin, Ann's sister, spent a few days with her. LaRae Roundy and daughters and Jerry Shurtz and family of Glen Canyon, daughters of Irene aro visiting here. Mr and Mrs. Arthur Alvey srent a few days visiting relatives In Wayne Co. last week. In days of old when knights were bold, And barons held ; their sway, They took their 1 orders from their wives, Just f as men do today! This little saying doesn't hold true, ar- ' (continued) BOULDER ound our house at least. Cecil is just now getting the ground ready for my garden and I've been giving orders for a month now. I guess the men in Escalante are trained a little better in this respect though because I noticed the women's gardens are really flourishing over there as I went through Sataurday. |
