Loyd Gates made a trip to Salt Lake City for wire to fix. up he TVs. Euzell Cottam took her daughter Dlanna back to Cedar City to school, Verda t Griffin accompanied them. Claron and Ruby Griffin went to Salt Lake on business and for freight; Blllie and Minnie Davis made a similar trip. Alpine Shirts and family were here visiting his parents Morris and Neta. Both ward Relief Societies meet together the second Tuesday of each month for a lesson on home nursing given by Amy Stevens, last week the South ward put In all day and quilted one big and two little quilts. Stake Relief Society day was held Saturday In the South ward church with a Christmas gift suggestion display under the direction of Stake Work Director Ruby Griffin who conducted and welcomed folks there, Invo cation was by Pres. Nelda Willi ; the Singing Mothers tang under the direction of Thelma Cottam and accompanied by Janet Spencer. Gur ena Mclnclly and Linda Alvey did two song and dance numbers and showed off costumes made by Gurena's mother Twila; Linda's mother Betty R. played their accompaniment. There were other models showing the clothing made by R.S. members. There were five tables and most of the lower wall space displaying tho handicraft of these, t-lented ladles, some stld ft (continued inside) ' i' ESCALANTE was bigger than that at tho State Fair. Refreshments were served and the large crowd in attendance seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Ward conference was hold in both wards with Sam Pollock and Desmond Twitchell officiating in the South anrt Chase Shurtz and Alton Shakcspcar in the North, the ward officers reported on the different auxiliary organlza tions. LaVcrn Griffin came from Yuma, Arizona and moved his family back 'there for the winter. Maud and Cliff Reynolds had son Lark his family here to spend Saturday. Forgot to tell you last week about the shower for Alice Ann Pollock held at the home of her grandmother, Alice Bailey, her mother Delia Christiansen came from Cedar City and Leann Spencer Julandcr came from Panguitch with the bride to assist with the gifts. The young couple live at Panguitch where the groom, Stanley Pollock works for Pearson and Crofts. A PTA meeting of the Elementary school was held Thursday night with Pres. Lea Griffin in charge, the . teachers and somo of the students of Rula Spencer's room demonstrated an ordinary day at school; Linda Alvey and Gurena Mclnelly sang and danced and Berlin Osborn was the speaker.
