Show Lamond Griffin Dies Suddenly At Work The citizens of Escalante should soon be shock proof; word was received Thursday night that Lamond Griffin dropped dead on the job at Glen Canyon Dam. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 14th, in the North ward chapel' with Hal Shurtz conducting. Prelude and postlude music, also accompaniment for the songs was by Janet Spencer; Invocation by Wallace Roundy; song by the Singing Mothers; remarks, Hal Shurtz; talk by Jennings Allen; song "When I Take My Vacation In Heaven" by Verda Liston and Veda Mitchell; talk, Blllie Bar-ker; Benediction by Stanley Griffin. Dedication of grave by Alburn Griffin. Lamond was born in 1907 to Joseph end Emma Riggs Griffin of Escalante and has lived here all his life. He never married and devoted his life to his widowed mother until she passed away; his friendly disposition and quick wit won him man friends. Ho is survived by 5 bro- Lamond Griffin thcrs: Ray, Layton and Ernie of Escalante, Theron, Tropic; Ken, Provo; a sister, Allie Spencer of Escalante. Three sons, of the late Smith Griffin were here, Stanley, Douglas and True; Ken and Ella and their two sons, Kenneth .and Donald; the .Theron, Griffins; tho Sam Pollocks,' Harmon Shakes-(continued ; on back page) Lamond Grlifin (continued) pears of Tropic; Lavina Chy-noweth, Vie Francisco of Hen-rlevllle; Irene King, Nethel-la Woolsey, the Lcland Haws of Boulder; Billie Barker and his lady friend came from St. George. |
