Show Bryce Canyon ParkScenic Points To Be Kept Open Over Winter Bryce Canyon National Park viewpoints will again be accessible to visitors throughout the winter, according to Supt Louis Hallock. Roads to Sunset Point, Bryce Point Parla View will be kept open by park maintenance crews. A small snow plow will be used to remove snow from the trails which lead from the parking areas to the observation platforms. In the past there has been widespread misinformation as to road conditions and tourist accommodations In this area, Mr. Hallock stated. Neither meals nor lodgings can be obtained within the park during the winter, but ample facilities remain open along approach roads and at nearby towns. Bryce Canyon Park now has three new permanent employees, according to Mr. Hallock. Two are replacements for those who have left for other duties, the third fills a new position recently authorized which Increases Ranger Naturalist services to Bryce Canyon visitors. Park Ranger James M. Dempscy and wife Jane are from Great Sand Dunes Monument, Colo.; he is a 1958 graduate of USU. Park Ranger Gerald E. Mernin Jr. is from Yosemlte Park, Calif.; he graduated from Notre University in 54 and spent three years at Hastings Law School in San Francisco. Ranger-Naturalist Stephen N.Stephenson, wife Lela and two children came from Petrified Forest Monument, "Ariz; he Is a graduate of Idaho State College. |
