Show NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER FOR SALE Scaled bids will bo received by tho Forest Supervisor, or his authorized representative, in the offico of the Forest Supervisor, Cedar City, Utah, up to and not later than 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 12, 1960, for all livo and recently dead (sound sap-wood) timber marked or designated for cutting on an area of approximately 500 acres In tho Pleasant Creek Drainage, Township 31 South, Rango 5 East, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, Dixie National Forest, estimated to contain live and recently dead (sound sapwood) sawtlmber as follows: 1,400 M ft. b.m. ofpon-dcrosa pine, and 100 M ft. b.m. of Douglas fir, more or less. In addition there is within tho sale area an uncstimated volumo of merchantable older dead (unsound sapwood) sawtlmber of all species which will be paid for at $1.00 per M ft b.m. The minimum acceptable bid per M ft b.m. for live and recently dead (sound sap-wood) timber is: For pond-erosa plno logs $6.65, which Includes a base rate of $5.85 for stumpage, and $ .80 for slash disposal; for Douglas fir logs $6.65, which includes a base rate of $5.85 for stumpage, and $.80 for slash disposal. The term "stumpage" includes deposit for sale area betterment. The prices bid for stumpage for live and recently dead (sound sapwood) timber shall be considered as tentative rates which shall be reduced or Increased by 0.5 of tho dlf- 4 fcrenco between tho Western Pine Association index prices for tho period July r, 1960, to September 30, 1960, and tho average of the Western Pine Association Index prices as calculated by the Forest Servico at the end of each calendar quarter. In no event however, shall the adjusted rates for each quarter be less than the base rates stated above. The stumpage rates for older dead (unsound sap wood) will not be subject to quarterly adjustment. For ponderosa pine and Douglas fir, which have two base ln dices, (1) the high base in- ; dex will bo used when the , overage index Is higher than j such base Index, (2) no adjustment will bo made when the average index equals either of the base indices or falls between them, and (3) the low base index will be used when tho average Index is lower than such base index. A certified check, cashier's check, bank draft, or money -order, payablo To the Forest Service, USDA, In the amount of $600.00 must accompany each bid to be applied on the purchase price, refunded or retained In whole or In part as actual or liquidated damages according to the provisions of the bid. Tho right to reject any and all bids is reserved. Before bids are submitted, full information concerning the timber, the conditions of the sale and submission of bids should be obtained from the District Ranger, Teasdale, Utah, or the Forest Supervisor, Cedar City, Utah.
