Show THE WORD FROM BOULDER BY NETIIELLA GRIFFIN A Frcdonla man's signature spells much activity for Boulder this summer. When the owner of the Whiting Brothers saw mill at that Arizona town signed a five-year lease last ' week to use GarKane power, the long hoped-for enlargement of the Boulder hydroelectric plant was .assured. With the water from the west fork of the Boulder river, an addition of a third unit to the two existing ones will be made. Work will begin very soon, says Leland Haws, president of the power association, since preliminary surveys and plans have all been made and since the, contract specifies the completion and activation of the line within six months. During this period there .should be a considerable increase in Job opportunities in this area. Construction will include building a three-and-a-half road to the site of the diver sion reservoir (near the head of Baker's pasture), laying the pipe line, rephasing the power line from Escalante to Henrieville, and completion of a new line from Henrieville to the sawmill at Fredonla. This lino, will follow the Cottonwood road route. Well, we now have another successful Relief Society community party behind us. Members of our committees are glad, of course, to have people tell us the program was wonderful, the dinner the best they ever ate, and the dance Just grand, but we are the happiest in the simple thought that it is over with, at least for another whole year. The program took the form of a burl-equd on Boulder as "Tho Scenic Center of tlie World."
