The. flu bug Is still very active, quite a percent of the High School students are back to .school along with the teachers, Grant McMullen and Miss Nelson, but the E'emen-tary school has dwindled. Haws and part of his .family from 'Vernal, the Kenneth Griffins of Provo and the Ron- uld Freemans of Salt Lake City, then they brought Wanda back here for several days, then on the weekend, Wan da's .daughters, DeAnn who Is attending the BYU at Provo, and Frankle and husband (the Ronald Freemans) came here for a visit and took Sariah back North with them, to stay until after conference. Tlie cattle men .are all busy with dehorning, branding .etc. and bringing the poor critters In to the feed yards. Mr. and Mrs. Glover Sm'thand boys went to Nevada when he has employment on a dairy farm, they left Grover here to finish the school year. Norma Spencer returned from Provo where she was visiting her daughter and son-in-law, th? Larry Dowdells, she Is living in her home but is very lonely. Mayor Claron Griffin mado a business trip to Salt Lake ' City last week. Gerald Thompson and Gordon Shurtz' made a bus'nsss trip to Provo. Hen Heaps has been moved from the County Hospital to a privately owned Rest Home in Salt Lake Cltv, he is in a lot of pa'n and can't t " - get better. Mrs. Twila Mclnlly entertained the members of the Better Homes Club at her home last week. Mr. and Mrs. Reeves Baker - went to Salt Lake City to attend the funeral services of their brother-irrlaw, Grant Twitchell, former resident and merchant of Escalante. A fellow from Hawaii came in here last week and put on a program at the local II gh School. Some visitors missed last week were Bernlce Tuft and Jean Ikaard and her family of Rich-feld, they were visitors at the Wayne Barney home; and Virginia Bauer and her family at the Daniel W lcock home, talked to Virginia then didn't write her down; and oh yes, J. Arthur Cooper came to dance on our Gym floor, then he took "The Holy Land'' to Boulder and due to a series of flat t"r:s spent tha night at the Gene Griffin home hcje. The Kane County road crew brought .their equipment and went down the desert to work. Some members of the Junior Riding club from , CSU came in here and Arnold and Darrel Alvey took them down the desert . sightseeing and chasing wild horses. The Blake Robinsons had all of their daughters home: Renee Porter and family of Provo, Mrs. Juna Staples and baby of Rchfield, and Rhoda Robinson of Salt Lake City, also Mrs. Wanda Allen of Provo. They held a Trousseau tea for Rhoda with a large crowd attending. Blake and Gurena came back from ths wedding with a 59 Mercury a block long, almost.
