Show National 4-H Week Observed , About two and a quarter million boys and girls through out the United State, Along with about 170 from Garfield County are observing National 4 II Club Week this week. Special thanks should be given the fine leaders of the county who have over the past years made the local 4-H program possible. Without the local volunteer leaders, It would not be possible to have a 4-H program. The Extension Service can carry on the 4-H program only with the help of voluntary leaders. During the past year, the boys and girls of Garfield County have demonstrated the motto of "Learning "to Do by Doing", In their projects. Tho projects carried by the boys of the county included forres-try, dairy, beef, sheep, swine and electricity. The girls took some of these projects including meat preparation which included foods, canning and freezing. Other projects taken by the girls included clothing, home furnishings and room improvement. These skills, i'-iH. hF'! which the members learn in 4-H work, can be useful to them the rest of their lives. You can call the 4-H program a sound investment in the future. In the near future, plans will be made for this year's 4-H program for the county. There will be a few new and different projects available for 1959. Now is the time for you to start planning for this 4-H year. |
