We would like to invite you horsemen to bring your animals to the fair. The dress review will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Tongue We arc quite sure there is an outbreak of Blue Tongue in a couple of farm flocks of sheep in Escalante. The sheep are still coming down with the disease and we don't know how serious the outbreak will be but there have been a number of sheep lost to date. Thomas Dodds and myself checked two flocks last Thursday which showed very pronounced symptons of the disease. Since that time Dr. Klep-pinger has been over. I very strongly recommend that all of you folks that own sheep in Escalante area vaccinate immediately. The rest of the sheep men in the county should keep a good lookout for symptons and if in doubt should vaccinate. It takes from 10 days to two weeks for the vaccine to build up any immunity. The vaccination should really be done in the spring to afford positive protection. They don't know if one vaccination will last for the live of the sheep. To be on the safe side you should vaccinate |
