Show Rodeo, Barbecue And Whoopdeedo To Feature Boulder Dam Dedication The people of Boulder and the board of directors of the GarKane Power Association are planning an all-out celebration for Friday, August 22, to mark the opening of the new hydro-electric plant on the Boulder Creek. Dedica-. , . tion of the million and a half dollar structure, "a rodeo, and a free barbeque are mparts of the program. Governor George D. Clyde and other state officials have received invitations to attend. A representative of" -the Chicago engineering firm, which has been in charge of the project, will be present. GarKane board members ana officers of other Rural Elec trification Associations have accepted invitations. Leland Haws, president of GarKane, urges all members of the association to come and learn what the completion of this plant will mean to them as users of its electric power Benefits will include perman-ancy and lower operating costs. Development of the ar-v ea served, in the way of small manufacturing plants, pumping of irrigation water, etc., will no doubt result, Mr Haws says. Dedicatory ceremonies and a prepared program will take place at the plant at 10 A.M Inspection of the power house and the manager's residence will follow, then serving of the barbequed beef. In the afternoon there will be a rodeo at the newly-built grounds, staged by members of tho Boulder-Escalante Riding club. |
