Show Three Die As Truck Dives I Into Bull Valley Gorge I Spectacular Hull Valley Gorge In Kane County, about It miles Mutheast of Cannonvllle, crush-ed out the lives of three Garfield County men last weekend, Victims were Max Henderson, r,3. Sunday, sighted the pickup truck lodged In the narrow gorge about Co feet below th1 bridge. nodles of two of the victim were still wedged Into the truck, the third body had fallen clear and crashed to the Gorge floor almost 200 feet lower' down. The Gorge, ono of the more spe-ctacular scenic wonders of the area, Is a narrow silt In the earth's surface, 30 feet at Its widest part near the top, narrowing to four or five throughout moat of Its depth of 200 to ICO feet. Trooper Armond Luke, Lt. Paul Chrlstensen of the Utah Highway Patrol, Deputy Sheriff Verrtcil Shakeapear of Tropic, and Garfield County Sheriff Deward Woodard were summoned to the scene. Sheriff Woodard directed the removal of the bodies, a halr-ralslng operation. His son, Paul Woodard, with a rota around his waist, worked for hours sawing away parts of the truck Including the steering column In order to free the bodies. He worked at the dizzy height above the canyon floor, with the swaying truck threatening to give under him at any time. When one of the bodies was released from the truck, the weight at' most pulled 22 men over the edge as the slack In the rop wns suddenly snapped up.
