Show Local Schools Feature National Education Week This Is American Education Week, in an attempt to acquaint the parents and other citizens of the community. Mayor William llruhn has declared the week of November 6 to 12 ns American Education Week. Mayoc Bruhn Issued a proclamation this week, calling the attention, of citizens of Panguitch City to the progress In our local schools. He encouraged parents of children now In school to take time to visit their school and see first hand the accomplishments of modern teaching methods. The proclamation also complimented school and civic leaders for their cooperative spirit shown in the past year In the planning of the new elementary school building, and cited other examples of the Important part which the education system plays in everyday community life. To carry out the program of American Education W e e k, "Back to School" night was sponsored by the high school on Wednesday, Nov. 9. This meeting was held In the form of a PTA meeting with President John Chldester presiding. Mayor tBruhn talked on the problems of teen-agers In Panguitch and asked the cooperation of the parents In solving some of the, problems that exist. Several" demonstration classes were given by members of the high school faculty. ' Everyone who attended the meeting found It both enlightening and entertaining, We would like to call your attention to another program to be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the North Ward chapel. This Is the annual Armistice Day program sponsored by the American Legion and presented by the high school. HRYCI2 VALLEY National Education Week Is hi Inn sponsored In Tropic this week by the Ilryce Valley schools. To start the activities of the week, a meeting of the PTA was held and reorganized. Highway patrolman Rasmus-son gave a talk on highway safety. The parents have been invited to attend and visit the schools all week. Wednesday and Thursday. Parent-Teacher conferences are being held In Bryce Valley High. Special films on various phases of education are being shown in the class rooms to the students and parents. The Tropic chapter of the Future Homemakers of America will present a sy octal program In Sacrament meeting on Sunday evening In the Tropic ward. BATCH SCHOOL Classes in modern and folk dancing under the direction or Mrs.' Munson are being participated in by the children of the upper grades with much enjoyment and enthusiasm. In the meantime the third grade boys and girls are very Interested In -(he science lessons, especially the experiments, conducted "by ' Mr. Hansen. ANTIMONY SCHOOL . Antimony School and P-TA ' j sponsored, a "Back To School" j night, Monday, Nov. 7th, u ' highlight National Education Week. Parents brought' their :H favorite dish and came to the school to enjoy a buffet lunch, h.l program and games.
