Show Mr. and Mrs. Eph Coombs returned re-turned homo last Sunday night from a 5-weeks' tour of California, Cali-fornia, Texas and Old Mexico. They went from this city to Juarez, Mexico and visited the following cities enrouto: Sacro-mento, Sacro-mento, Los Angeles, -Pasedena, Cal., and El Paso, Texas. On the return trip they came up tho coast lino visiting San Francisco and other cities of California. They report having had a most enjoyablo trip both going and coming, not having experienced any wet weather on tho oiitiro journey. Considerable Consider-able of thoir timo was spent in Colonial Juarez and they also visited Ciudad Juarez. In the last named city, Sunday, March 13th, they witnessed one of the greatest bull-fights over held in in that locality. It was a contest con-test between the chief Matador of Spain and tho chief Matador of Old Mexico, for a purse of $2-000 $2-000 $1,000 a side. Sunday is tho chief big day for sports of all kinds in Mexico, everything wide open all day. Mr. Coombs seems much improved in health. |
