Show HELD Uf JAPANESE llSSii Two Daring Desperadoes Start Shoot. Ing When Vltlm Made Suspicious Move, One Man Being Killed. Ogden, Utah One Japanese was shot and Instantly killed, two others wero badly wounded, and four men wero hold up nnd robbed within fifteen minutes' min-utes' after tho shooting affray which occurred at tho Japanese mission, In this city, shortly after 11 o'clock Saturday Sat-urday night, when two highwaymen entered a room where religious services ser-vices wero being hold and attempted to hold up the place. Ten members of tho Japanese mission mis-sion wero seated around tables In tho small room, used as a chapel, when tho highwaymen entered, and, nourishing nour-ishing revolvers, ordered every one to stick up his hands. While M, Nabe-shlma, Nabe-shlma, proprietor of tho White Chip saloon, was being searched he suddenly sud-denly ran his hnnd Into his pocket. Tho highwayman standing on guard immediately opened fire. A bullet from his rovolvr entered tho right shoulder and tho Jap fell to tho floor. The othor highwayman began be-gan firing, and in the fusillade which followed S. Ishlmura, former manager of the Japanese-American bank, was Instantly killed by a ballot which pierced his heart. Dr. K. IlcolMichc, a practicing physician, was shot In the stomnch. Tho highwaymen then lied. Four men wore held up and robbed by tho same men a short time later. |
